SJE-Rhombus Supports Community Programs

SJE-Rhombus believes that supporting social, educational and ethical programs in the community will help create a better life for community members in the short and long term. The company supports such programs through its Charitable Fund, SJE Foundation, and SJE Foundation Scholarship Programs.

In addition, the company encourages employees to volunteer in their communities by allowing employees to use "flex-time" or PTO (Paid Time Off) during regular work hours to support community service events. Employees representing SJE-Rhombus may be paid for the time they are performing community service work when asked to do so on behalf of the company.

SJE Foundation
The S.J. Electro Systems Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those in the Detroit Lakes and surrounding communities. We strive to accomplish this with endowments for projects and programs that demonstrate integrity and concern for others through education, personal growth, community development and health improvement. If you would like to be considered for a grant through the SJE Foundation, please apply in writing following our grant proposal procedures (.pdf).

SJE Foundation Scholarship
The SJE-Rhombus Foundation Scholarship Program was established in an effort to encourage post high school education for children, grandchildren, and spouses of any SJE-Rhombus Company employee. Under this program, eligible applicants can apply for financial assistance (up to $1,000 per year) to help defray the cost of post high school continuing education. Since it's inception in 1992, the SJE Foundation has awarded a total of $75,000 to students through this scholarship program.

The SJE Foundation awards $5,000 in scholarships each year as follows (financial needs are not considered):

(6) $500 awards to the next-ranking applications

Awards are not automatically renewed; however, students may re-apply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. A student is limited to receiving three awards.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America. Scholarship Management Services is the nation's largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.
